Special edition of Pier Chat with John Harris

Since 1999, John C. Harris owns Chesapeake Light Craft aka CLC, the leading manufacturer of wooden boat kits, etc., with designs ranging from kayaks and standup paddleboards, to rowboats and pocket-cruising sailboats (and everything in between!). John is an acclaimed wooden boatbuilder and designer profiled in many print media and TV shows in almost every English-language paddling, sailing, and small boat publication, including WoodenBoat, Yachting World, Popular Mechanics, Sea Kayaker, Canoe and Kayak, Paddler, Soundings, Sailing, Cruising World, Classic Boat, Watercraft, and many more.

I had the pleasure to have met John in 2009, during the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend, WA and currently I am finishing one of his designs, the Pocketship, commissioned by an American Hawaiian resident, Mr. Martin Steinhaus; yes, I am building the boat in Rio de Janeiro while Martin from Hawaii is eager to have the boat named after his wife with a cute intimate nickname, Guapa, but this is another story. Check out the great and patient interview John Harris gave to us (if the podcast does not auto start please click on the box or picture above).
